Monadnock Voices for Prevention is currently constructing a 3-year strategic plan for substance abuse prevention in the Monadnock Region. Monadnock Voices for Prevention have been working with community members, service providers, law enforcement, and coalition coordinators to establish prevention strategies that will work for the Monadnock Region. Monadnock Voices hopes the plan will bring together the community, service providers, law enforcement, and coalitions in the region to develop a collaborative force against substance abuse. Each region in New Hampshire has different prevention struggles. The people of the Monadnock Region have chosen to focus on prescription medication and binge drinking in the region's strategic plan. Within the community people feel these matters are the highest of priorities and the easiest to change. Monadnock Voices for Prevention is aware of other substance use issues, but the amount of data supporting the issue was not available. In order to construct a solid plan the plan had to be supported with data.

The plan will be submitted in the beginning of June to the NH Charitable Foundation and the NH DHHS for review. Please feel free to contact Monadnock Voices for Prevention with any questions concerning the strategic plan or any other substance abuse prevention questions.
